Start Date

In this 2021 production of "Medea" held at Troy University, I acted as the Assistant Scenic Designer. Our concept for this project was to visually display the paradox themes of this show, predominantly the conflict of masculinity and femininity delivered by Jason and Medea. The way we did this was by utilizing circular 3D-Printed columns on top of a circular platform that twisted, representing Medea's twisting mindset and rise to power, that was contrasted by a smaller, square platform that featured two staggered columns, symbolizing Jason's loss. My favorite part of the design was utilizing the Fibonacci Sequence to create the radial pattern for the stage painting that began at Medea's platform and extended across the entire stage, showing how her actions cause a ripple effect that cannot be undone.
